Who we are
Monte Power & Electric ("Monte," "we," "us," "our") is a California-licensed C-10 electrical contractor operating from San Jose, California, serving customers across the South Bay. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit montepowerelectric.com, contact us through the site, request an estimate, or become a customer.
What we collect
We collect personal information you provide directly to us when you fill out a contact or estimate-request form, send us an email, or call our office. That typically includes your name, phone number, email address, the property address where the work would be done, and any details you share about the project.
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you use our website. That includes your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, and the date and time of access. We use Google Analytics or a similar tool to understand how the site is used and to improve it.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and prepare an estimate.
- To schedule, perform, document, and bill for electrical work.
- To pull permits and coordinate with PG&E or the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) when required by your project.
- To follow up on completed work and warranty questions.
- To send service-related messages (appointment confirmations, completion notices) by phone, text, or email.
- To meet our legal, tax, insurance, and licensing obligations.
- To improve the website and the service we deliver.
How we share your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with parties who help us run the business and only to the extent they need it to do their job.
- Permitting authorities and PG&E. When your project requires a permit, an AHJ inspection, or PG&E coordination, we share the property address and project scope with those parties.
- Vendors and service providers. We use service providers for things like web hosting, form delivery (FormSubmit, or successor), email, accounting, and analytics. These providers handle information on our behalf under their own confidentiality terms.
- Legal compliance. We will share information when we are required by law, court order, subpoena, or regulator request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property, customers, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Monte is acquired, merged, or goes through a similar transition, customer information may transfer to the successor entity.
Cookies and analytics
The website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences and to measure usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, but some features may not behave as expected. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Data retention
We keep customer records (estimates, invoices, project notes, permits, and inspection records) for the period required by California contractor licensing rules, tax law, and our insurance carrier. Inquiries that do not lead to a project are retained for a shorter period and then deleted. Website analytics data is retained according to the analytics provider's default retention.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by California law.
Your rights as a California resident
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information:
- Right to know. You can ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and with whom we shared it.
- Right to delete. You can ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (we may need to retain records for permitting, warranty, tax, or licensing reasons).
- Right to correct. You can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@montepowerelectric.com or call 408-630-0548. We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within the timeframes required by California law.
Children
The website is intended for adult homeowners, property managers, business owners, and tenants. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
